Grammas was a registered Republican for almost 30 years (1995-2024). She changed her registration to Democrat only after voting in the 2024 Republican primary.
Grammas voted in Republican primaries for nearly 30 years including Donald Trump’s 2016, 2020, and 2024 presidential campaigns. Despite claiming she left the party after the January 6th violent insurrection at the Capitol in 2021, Grammas remained a Republican for nearly four years beyond that time.
Grammas also ran a Republican campaign and donated to several Republican candidates over the years, both at the federal and local levels. She donated to the Republican opponent of Senator Angela Alsobrooks as well as Republican County Councilmember Amanda Fiedler.

Grammas stood by Republicans through inhumane and lawless policies during Trump’s first term. She stood by the party for years after the January 6th insurrection. And she continued voting for Republicans as late as 2024.
Grammas' ties to the Republican party continue to this day. Grammas currently employs the former director of the Maryland Republican Party to consult on her “Democratic” campaign, paying him thousands of dollars to advise her.
